Village Repair

**My review was removed by Village about 3 times now, so here it is again** Be weary about this place. I brought my Grand Marquis in for fuel tank straps and it turned out the fuel tank needed replacing. $582.50 for the fuel tank. Everyone understands that there’s overhead on parts, but 305% is excessive. Online (Rockauto) you can find the same part for $191. To add onto the bad experience they ended up ordering the wrong one which speaks to their knowledge. The invoice slip isn’t itemized, so you can’t tell how long they actually spent on each job which gives them more power to say whatever they want about labor time. I also didn’t appreciate the disrespect and dishonesty when it came to my car being hit. There was a bunch of black paint scuffed onto my bumper which was very noticeable. There was no reason to be so defensive since I wasn’t accusing them of anything, I just wanted it cleaned off. I was at the shop two days prior and the night before that and would have noticed those marks on my bumper. I should have perused answers more, but I’m just putting this here so others can be cautious. The repair was under a family member’s name, so Village cannot invalidate this review by claiming I was never at their shop. To address the reply, looking anywhere online you will find that the part is no more than about $270. I understand you use a vendor, but a 305% or at least 215% is ridiculous, according to a technician that I know, as well as common sense. It’s unfair to claim that it’s “a little more money”. It doesn’t really matter whether that the job was done or not, it matters that the prices are so high with little evidence to back up a line of reasoning to those prices. If the part plus delivery really was $582.50, that should be itemized too on the invoice. When I noticed the scuffing on my bumper, I didn’t ask YOU to clean it. I didn’t really care what happened, I just wanted something to clean it with. After a questionable experience, no customer would appreciate a shop shifting the blame onto them. Especially when the customer is making no accusations, just wanting the problem solved that occurred while in the shop’s possession nonetheless, regardless of whether somebody at the shop caused it or nots.

Nothing but good things to say about Village Repair!!!! Prompt, honest, reliable work. Always friendly and knowledgeable. Recently my daughters car was smoking nearby so she left it there overnight. They were able to look at it the following day and thoroughly checked it over and had it back to her that afternoon. Best part is they didn’t charge us anything!!! Very much appreciated :)
